Patients often comment about their relationships with their nurse. Since nurses are taught to care for patients in a holistic manner, they often have a greater knowledge of the patients and the conditions, for which they seek health care. Nurses provide care in a compassionate manner and interact on a personal level with patients and their families.
The ASN program at Trinity College of Nursing & Health Sciences prepares men and women from culturally and ethnically diverse communities for a career in nursing. Students both in classroom and clinical settings to provide, participate, and learn high quality, safe, and effective care to patients. The Upon program completion graduates are prepared to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) to qualify as a Registered Nurse.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics indicates that the employment of nurses is expected to increase 22% from 2008-2018. Nursing will comprise the largest number of new jobs for any occupation with 581,500 new jobs being created. Currently hospitals employ 60% of the RN workforce providing long-term job security and a variety of employment options to a student electing to pursue a career in nursing. Nursing employment is expected to grow in other areas of the health care sector including doctor’s offices, long term care, and home health care.
The Associate of Science in Nursing Program (ASN) is a two-year program of study combining didactic and clinical nursing courses as well as general education courses. The program prepares beginning nurses who function as providers and leaders of direct and indirect nursing care for diverse individuals, families, and groups. Graduates function as collaborative members within the discipline of nursing and the health care team. Graduates have an awareness and appreciation of research findings that contribute to nursing practice. The Associate of Science in Nursing Degree Program prepares graduates to assume responsibility for lifelong learning as an individual and as a member of the nursing profession.
