Admission of Transfer Students
Trinity College of Nursing & Health Sciences welcomes applications from transfer students. A transfer student is someone who has taken college credit at another post-secondary institution. If you complete college credit after the summer following graduation from high school, you are considered a transfer student.
To receive credit for previous college coursework from a regionally accredited institution, an Advanced Placement Exam (AP), College Level Examination Program (CLEP), and DANTES Subject Standardized Tests (DSST), official transcripts must be submitted for evaluation, and the registrar or dean of nursing & health sciences must approve the credit for transfer. Applicants may be required to take a proficiency exam to determine the transferability of academic credits from non-accredited sources. Only those credits that are applicable to the student's curriculum at the college will be accepted for transfer. All transfer credit will be equated to semester hours of credit, and all transcripts become the official property of the college and will not be returned or issued to another institution
Credit that is acceptable for transfer will not impact the student's cumulative grade point average at the college. The student's transcript will indicate the institutions where the approved transfer courses were taken and the semester hours that were earned. Transfer credit is indicated on the college transcript as credit (CR). Only courses with a grade of "C" or above (2.0 on a 4.0 scale) will be considered for transfer credit.
It is very important that you start the transfer process early! Even if you are just beginning your post-secondary education and do not plan to transfer to Trinity College of Nursing & Health Sciences for a few years, it is never too early to begin the planning.
In fact, Trinity College of Nursing & Health Sciences admission representatives can provide you with a suggested plan of study so you know exactly what courses to take at another institution. This will ensure you transfer the maximum number of credits into the programs at Trinity College of Nursing & Health Sciences.
