2012-2013 Award Year begins July 1, 2012. If you are in college after July 1 this year, you MUST file a FAFSA. The earlier, the better for State funding. Financial Aid recommends doing your FAFSA as soon as you complete your 2011 Taxes. If you are not filing taxes, you can do the FAFSA

FAFSA Deadlines 2012-2013
Federal Deadline
Online applications must be submitted by midnight Central Time, June 30, 2013.
Any corrections or updates must be submitted by midnight Central Time, September 23, 2013.
State Deadline
Illinois - As soon as possible after January 1, 2012. Awards made until funds are depleted.
College Deadline
Check with the college(s) you are interested in attending. You may also want to ask your college about their definition of an application deadline - whether it is the date they receive your FAFSA, or the date your FAFSA is processed.
