Admission Requirements

Admission requirements for the BSHS degree program are as follows:

  • Graduation from an accredited school of Radiography or Respiratory Care
  • Current, unencumbered license/certification as a Radiographer or Respiratory Therapist
  • Demonstration of Statistic readiness through placement testing or prior course work


  • Respiratory Therapists and Radiographers graduating from an accredited diploma program may be considered for admission and will be required to complete the following undergraduate courses from an accredited institution of higher education: written communication, oral communication, humanities, psychology, and college level algebra. These courses are in addition to the required general education courses required for the BSHS degree. Students graduating from allied health professions other than Radiography and Respiratory Care will have credits evaluated by the Registrar and respective Program Directors on a case by case basis.
  • There is no time limit on the acceptance of credits obtained for professional licensure/certification. 
  • Only courses completed with a grade of “C” or above will be accepted for transfer credit.

  1. Proof of state licensure or certification in a health sciences profession.
  2. Graduation from a professionally accredited health sciences program.
  3. Minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale from an Associate Degree Program.
  4. If English is not your native language: Confirmation of fluency in the English language or a minimum TOEFL score of 550 (written), 213 (computer-based) or 79-80 (internet-based) with a score of at least 23 on the speaking portion of the exam.

Advanced standing credits (75) will be awarded for completion of an Associate Degree in Radiography or Respiratory Care based on transcript evaluation. Other Allied Health graduates will have their transcripts evaluated and transfer credit will be awarded according to Trinity College of Nursing & Health Sciences policy. Transfer credit will be awarded in the following categories:

Natural Sciences  8-11 Credit Hours
Communication 6 Credit Hours
Math 3 Credit Hours
Social Sciences 3 Credit Hours
Humanities 3 Credit Hours
Health Sciences 51-54 Credit Hours

Diploma graduates will be required to complete the general education courses required of Trinity College Associate Degree students prior to admission into the BSHS program. Courses include the following:

Oral Communication 3 Credit Hours
Math 3 Credit Hours
Psychology 3 Credit Hours
Humanities 3 Credit Hours
