Grants

Grants are a form of financial aid that is provided by the federal or state governments that do not have to be repaid (unless, for example, the student withdraws from school and is owed a refund). Contact the Financial Aid Specialist today, (309) 779-7740, to determine if you qualify.

Federal Pell Grants

Federal Pell Grants are generally awarded to eligible undergraduate students who display financial need and have not yet earned a bachelor's, graduate, or professional degree. The actual amount of the grant is based on the cost of attendance, enrollment status, FAFSA results, and the current Federal Pell Grant regulations.

The maximum amount of Pell Grant a student may receive in his/her lifetime is limited to the equivalent of six full academic years.

Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)

The FSEOG program is administered directly by the financial aid office at Trinity College of Nursing & Health Sciences. FSEOG is generally awarded to eligible undergraduate students who display exceptional financial need and have not yet earned a bachelor's, graduate, or professional degree. Trinity College receives a limited allocation from the federal government and once the funds are exhausted there is no more available to award for the year.

The Monetary Award Program (MAP) provides grants, which do not need to be repaid, to Illinois residents who attend approved Illinois colleges and demonstrate financial need, based on the information provided on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and FAFSA submission date.

Nursing Education Scholarship (NES)

The Illinois Nursing Education Scholarship provides nursing students scholarship funding if they commit to working in Illinois after graduation. Students can be in enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree programs. NES application period each year starts on March 1 and continues through April 30. Students will need to apply to the scholarship each year of their program.

Students who demonstrate the greatest financial need among qualified applicants, may be qualified to receive the Nursing Education Scholarship. Based on the information provided on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and FAFSA submission date.

If awarded, you must begin full-or part-time employment as a licensed practical nurse, a registered nurse, or a nurse educator in Illinois within six months of graduating and remain employed for a period equivalent to the educational time supported by the scholarship.
